Join us for a river cruise sailing along the Saône and Rhône Rivers past some of the most scenic vineyards and vistas in the French countryside. Depart from Avignon, also known as the “City of the Popes,” where you’ll spend two days and visit the historic Papal Palace. Here you can also seek out the experimental theaters, painting galleries and art cinemas that have made Avignon a cultural center. Visit Gallo-Roman ruins in both Arles and Vienne, and walk the cobbled streets of Arles to see how it inspired Vincent van Gogh. Explore the medieval character of Tournon, and take a short walk over a pedestrian bridge to sip some wine in Tain L’Hermitage. Spend two days in Lyon – France’s third-largest city. Lyon is more easygoing and friendly than Paris, and many claim it has the most talented chefs and finest food in the country. Take a wine tour in Beaune, world-renowned for its Burgundy. Chalon-sur-Saône, host to many large fairs in the Middle Ages and now admired for its museums and entertainment centers, is where your river cruise will end.
